Interpretation Center – Hike – Andes Landscape

Leave early in the morning and take “The Volcanoes Avenue” to Latacunga. Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano in the world (5,897 msnm) located two hours from Quito. Along the way we’ll see various mountains including, el Corazon, Rumiñahui, Illinizas, Pasochoa, and Atacazo.The national park allows us the opportunity to hike around the lake at the foot of the Volcano. After, we’ll climb the volcano by vehicle until 4,500 meters. Then if the National Park regulations allow us we will climb until 4,800 meters where there is a refuge and from there continue up to the glaciers. Of course all plans depend on weather. Also, we’ll visit the Interpretation Center where we’ll learn about the flora and the fauna of the park and the moors protected área.. Overnight in Cotopaxi /Chugchilan
Day 1

Lake – Hike – Mules Ride – Andes Landscape – Local Natives

Leave early in the morning to Quilotoa Lagoon, approximately 2 hours distance from Cotopaxi. On the way we’ll observe the colorful landscape of the moors and indigenous communities that inhabit the area. (Possibility to visit a indigenous market depending the day) At the lagoon you can descend inside the crater and return on horseback or simply take a walk around the crater. Overnight in Baños.
Day 2

Waterfalls – hike – Adventure – Hot Springs

A full day of exploration of the town of Baños and the valley of the waterfalls. The Pailon del Diablo, is the largest and most spectacular Ecuador´s falls but other smaller ones are also impressive. There is also an opportunity to visit the hotsprings after which the town has been named. Our driver is at your disposal for the whole day to give you maximum flexibility in the visits that you would like to make such as: Visit to The House Tree, rafting, horse back riding, canopy etc. Overnight at Baños.
Day 3

Chimborazo Volcano – Hike – Andes Landscape

There we’ll take the Via Guaranda to Guayaquil, passing through the communities Santa Rosa, Pilahuin, and Río Blanco and then take an off-road to Chimborazo. After 4 hours of traveling we’ll reach the Hermanos Carrel refuge at 4,800 meters above sea level. We’ll eat lunch and head to Riobamba. / Alausi
Day 4

Train Experience – Andes Landscape – Cultural Tour

After breakfast, early in the morning we depart to Alausí, just less than 100km (62 miles), beautiful old town with one hundred houses. Time to take the spectacular train, considered the most difficult train of the XX century. You will descend gradually from the highlands to the lowlands, at times zigzagging, or hugging the cliffs. In the descending at the lowest point the incredible devil´s nose an interesting rock will appear in the horizon. The train descends and then returns to Alausí again. Then we return to Quito.
