Quilotoa Lagoon 3 day adventure package brings you from Quito, capital of Ecuador, through Andes Mountains to the only one emerald sparkling lake in the mountains. Discover the Ecuadorian highlands traveling along the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Head to Quilotoa Lagoon in which you will have a chance to admire its flora and scenery. The Quilotoa Loop is a beautiful way to experience the central highlands. You will pass indigenous and mestizo villages, meet local farmers and enjoy spectacular sceneries with deep canyons, paramo highlands, and snow-capped peaks. Tour Details :

Volcanoes Avenue – Hike – Quilotoa Lagoon

For the Volcanoes Avenue tour, we departure by car from Quito early in the morning at about 7:30 a.m. By heading south of Quito and driving through the Avenue of the Volcanoes passing through by the towns of Latacunga and Pujilí. On the way to Quilotoa we will stop to visit and indigenous local house from the “Paramos”, we will observe their clothes and customs, but the most important thing is that we are going to be with them in a typical indigenous house made of straw. we will sharing with them a short moment talking, watching and learning from them, about their life and how they prepare the soil to sow. We will also visit the town of Tigua, famous for its naive paintings. Then, we will continue up to the Quilotoa volcano, where you will be able to descend to the lake located inside the crater or just walk around the cráter for 3 hours. Prepare yourself to enjoy an unforgettable experience by mule back riding! Enjoy of the most beautiful landscape in the highlands and traditional indigenous villages! Accommodation in Chugchilan.
Day 1

Hike – Indigenous Village – Mountains Scenery

With beautiful mountains scenery we leave Quilotoa Crater after breakfast to hike down and up to Chugchilan. It is about 5 to 6 hours hike, going up from 3900 m. / 12.796 ft. Up to 3200 m. / 10.499 ft. We will go through the Rio Toachi Canyon and then back up to get to the road that takes us to Chugchilan. During this 5-hour hike, you will have excellent views on the Toachi Canyon, and you will get good impressions about what’s life like in the countryside in the Andes. Accommodation in Chugchilan in a local Lodge.
Day 2

Isinlivi Village – Hike - Quito

After breakfast, you leave with the guide in the direction to Isinlivi, the next village on our trip. Descent 400m. Ascent 300m. Distance 12 km. 4 hours hike. We will go down into the warm canyon of Rio Toachi and have some nice hours hiking and relaxing at the riverbed before going the last meters up to Isinlivi. Lunch and return to Quito.
